The 2 Man Italian Cycle Club
By Fabio Zatti | Venice, Italy
What are your current goals/dreams you are working towards? What made you take this path?
Well, at the moment I'm focusing on how to better understand what I’d like to do with my studies and my future working career because I’m still confused about these decisions. Except for this, one of the biggest dreams is to explore and travel the world discovering new countries and cultures. Probably thanks to my personality and my previous experiences I’d also make some new adventures, like a journey but more unusual and crazy.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
The proudest accomplishment that I've done is the bike journey through the Adriatic coast in Italy I think. This experience was one of the most challenging and extreme that I ever had, pushing myself to lots of difficulties that I had to face and overcome. Probably this wasn't a proper holiday, I prefer to define it as an adventure.
What is your most memorable travel story?
Well, there are many really relevant stories that I’ll keep forever with me, but one of the more significant for me is my bike journey: 12 wild days through the coast of Italy, cycling over 1200 kilometers in the hottest days of the summer. Me and my friend weren't absolutely prepared for these days, without previous experiences and physical training. In short, a really wild adventure.
Name an encounter with someone you met while traveling that had an impact on you.
While traveling I met a lot of really cool and fun people that I spent time with, expanding my social experiences and making me go out of my comfort zone. But only a few left a significant impact in me... The most impactful person that I met is my friend Dario, who lives in Sicily. We met for the first time in Barcelona almost 2 years ago, and now we’re still in contact even if we live in two different cities, over 2 hours by plane. We spent two weeks together and made a lot of memories and good moments. During the same holiday, I also met another really important person, whose name is Mary. She and Dario made my holiday one of the most memorable ones. She contributed to my personal growth by giving me incredible times and moments that were so precious to me.
What has been the favorite place you have traveled to & why?
It's difficult to give a single answer because I traveled to many beautiful places, but one that is still in my heart is the Spanish holiday that I did there. I really enjoyed this country by its beautiful cities and landscapes, and also by all the memories that this country brings to me when I think about it.
Any other thoughts/memories/stories/ pieces of advice/etc. that you want to share?
In conclusion, I’d only give final advice that is a sort of suggestion and also a motto of life: try to live your life at the best, doing as many things as you can, learning from each experience of your life, especially from the bad ones. Focus on yourself and find your way, do things that matter, make them count.
